First and foremost, know that a person who has a registry identification card or physician’s
recommendation is NOT exempt from prosecution if:

They drive, operate, or control a vehicle or vessel under power or sail while under the
influence of medical marijuana.

They water ski, surfboard or use any similar device while under the influence of medical
marijuana.

They operate an aircraft while under the influence of medical marijuana.
They have physical possession of a firearm while under the influence of medical marijuana.
They embark on an amusement ride while under the influence.
The possession of marijuana or drug paraphernalia is discovered because the person
engaged or assisted in the medical use of marijuana:
1. In a public place.
2. In a detention facility, county jail, state prison.
3. While delivering marijuana to another person, even if they hold a registry card.
They unlawfully possess a firearm
They possess or use marijuana or related paraphernalia in public view
They knowingly deliver marijuana to a person without a registration card
Holding a State Marijuana registry card does NOT exempt a person from federal laws that
apply to marijuana. With that being said, knowledge is a powerful tool; understanding MMJ
laws in the state of Nevada and how they may apply to you could come in handy someday.
