Pricing, software in one package
ACanadian company long known for its plumbing and
hydronic heating price book has developed a software
program that can substantially increase the accuracy
and reduce the time a contractor spends on paperwork.
In fact it is Allpriser’s pricing data that makes its latest
Winpriser software program unique, reports company
spokesman Bruce Preston. Winpriser is a no-charge option
with a subscription to the company’s Winpriser Computer
Pricing Service. “For many contractors, Winpriser is all the
software they need to produce estimates, invoices and
purchase orders,” he added. Invoices can be printed from
Winpriser or exported to office programs like QuickBooks
and Simply Accounting.
There are two versions of Winpriser – the Standard Edition
for stand-alone computers and the Professional Edition for
sharing pricing data among networked computers and/or
transferring invoices to other programs.
The Big Night Out
The pricing data can also be used with other software.
“Customers can subscribe to our Winpriser computer pricing
service and use the regular update files to maintain pricing
in their Accubid, Estimation, Quickpen or other software,”
noted Preston. “However, many customers using other software
find that our Winpriser program still comes in handy
for smaller jobs, addendums and changes.” Either way, the
key is reliable pricing information that is updated regularly.
There are several editions of the Allpriser Computer
Pricing Service. The Redbook version contains pricing on the
standard plumbing items normally stocked by a wholesaler.
The Goldbook features luxury faucets and fixtures. The
Silverbook covers heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
Allpriser is currently developing a service for electrical and
fire protection services as well.
When a contractor subscribes, he/she receives a startup
database containing current pricing and then receives
regular update files containing price changes either by
Internet or diskette.
A similar pricing service with more detailed markup
information is available for wholesalers.
