Weathershield Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash from Dulux Trade is designed for
cleaning all bare or painted wood and masonry surfaces contaminated with moulds,
algae and lichen. Suitable for brush application only.

SURFACE PREPARATION
For the best results, remove as much mould algae
or lichen as possible by scraping and brushing,
before treating. Weathershield Multi-Surface
Fungicidal Wash will only be effective on surface
growths. Where old growths have been trapped
between previous coats, all existing coatings need
to be removed. Special precautions should be
taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint
surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain
harmful lead.
SYSTEMS INFORMATION
SHAKE THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Apply by
brush to all affected areas. Leave for 24 hours then
thoroughly rinse and scrub with water to remove
residues and dead growth; failure to do this may
result in discolouration of subsequently applied
coatings. Repeat the process if necessary. On
badly affected areas or where lichen is present, the
use of high pressure water-hosing may be
necessary to remove all organic growth completely.
Do not apply in wet weather.

Contains quaternary ammonium compounds, benzyl-C8-
18-alkyldimethyl, chlorides. Causes serious eye irritation.
Causes skin irritation. Keep out of reach of children. If
medical advice is needed, have product container or label
at hand. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wash
hands thoroughly after handling. Call a POISON CENTER
or doctor/physician if you feel unwell. Dispose of contents
and container in accordance with all local, regional,
national or international regulations. Avoid the inhalation
of dust. Wear suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special
precautions should be taken during surface preparation of
pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they
may contain harmful lead. CONTAINS BENZALKONIUM
CHLORIDE 2.25% w/w.
Statutory conditions relating to use: FOR USE ONLY
AS A SURFACE BIOCIDE AND WOOD PRESERVATIVE.
Apply by brush at a rate of up to 1 litre of product per 25
square metres of surface. Wear suitable protective
clothing and suitable gloves. DO NOT CONTAMINATE
FOODSTUFFS, EATING UTENSILS OR FOOD CONTACT
SURFACES. This material and its container must be
disposed of in a safe way. UNPROTECTED PERSONS
AND ANIMALS SHOULD BE KEPT AWAY FROM
TREATED AREAS FOR 48 HOURS OR UNTIL SURFACES
ARE DRY. COVER WATER STORAGE TANKS before
application. DO NOT USE NEAR DRAINS, PREVENT ANY
SURFACE RUN-OFF FROM ENTERING DRAINS.
REMOVE OR COVER FISH TANKS AND BOWLS before
application. This product contains substances which are
known to be hazardous to the environment. Do not
contaminate ground, waterbodies or watercourses with
chemicals or used container. ALL BATS ARE
PROTECTED UNDER THE WILDLIFE AND
COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981. BEFORE TREATING ANY
STRUCTURE USED BY BATS, CONSULT NATURAL
ENGLAND NATURE, SCOTTISH NATURAL HERITAGE
OR THE COUNTRYSIDE COUNCIL FOR WALES.
ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL
OPERATORS: The (COSHH) Control of Substances
Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 may apply to the
use of this product at work. Engineering control of
operator exposure must be used where reasonably
practicable in addition to the items of personal protective
equipment. However, engineering controls may replace

personal protective equipment if a COSHH assessment
shows they provide an equal or higher standard of
protection. AVOID EXCESSIVE CONTAMINATION OF
COVERALLS AND LAUNDER REGULARLY. READ ALL
PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE. HSE No 6823.
Precautions: WASH ANY CONTAMINATION from skin or
eyes immediately. WASH HANDS AND EXPOSED SKIN
before meals and after use. Keep in the original container.
Keep container tightly closed. KEEP IN A SAFE PLACE.
To avoid risks to man and the environment, comply with
the instructions for use. This product is approved under
The Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 (as amended)
for use as directed. HSE No. 6823. Ingredients to be
disclosed in accordance with Regulation (EC) No
648/2004 on detergents: Less than 5% - Cationic
Surfactants.
Practical Coverage
A guide to the practical coverage which can be
achieved under normal conditions is up to 25m² per
litre. This will vary considerably depending on the
absorbency of the surface.
Thinning

Drying Times
Single coat at standard thickness:
Touch Dry: 2-4 hours. Leave on the surface for 24
hours, then rinse with clean water to remove dead
growth/residues.
Cleaning Up
After use, remove as much product as possible
from equipment before cleaning with water.
Transportation & Storage
Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and
protect from frost. To prevent spillage, please store
and transport upright.
