INTRODUCTION<br />
Hello, and welcome to the Commonwealth <strong>of</strong> Virginia‟s newest city! We are glad you have<br />
chosen to make the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Manassas</strong> <strong>Park</strong> your home.<br />
When <strong>Manassas</strong> <strong>Park</strong> was established the community selected for its motto, “Salus Populi<br />
Suprema Lex,” which means, “The Welfare <strong>of</strong> the People is our Supreme Law.” Today we<br />
continue to strive to be truly responsive to the needs and concerns <strong>of</strong> all our citizens and the<br />
business community.<br />
It is our hope that this handbook will acquaint you with the many programs, resources and<br />
services available to residents. On behalf <strong>of</strong> the governing body, city staff, and citizens, we<br />
invite you to become actively involved in the community and your local government.<br />
Although key information has been included in this publication, the most current information<br />
about city services and programs can be found on the city‟s web site at<br />
www.city<strong>of</strong>manassaspark.us.<br />
