Young Business Leaders Awards
Last year, our students soared and
won first place at the Young
Entrepreneur Competition organized
by the Mohammed bin Rashid
Establishment for Young Business
Leaders. This year, their creativity
and enthusiasm earned us two special awards.
The first award, Best Young Entrepreneur,
was
scooped by
the team ‘Real Heroes’,
whose project
involved creating four
storybooks about Sheikh Rashid,
Sheikh Maktoum, Sheikh Zayed and
Sheikh Mohammed. Amna, Noor, Inaam and
Dana were inspired by these great leaders
and decided to create books that focus on
their lives and explore their roles as heroes
and role models of the younger generations.
The second award was given to Al
Mawakeb Schools in recognition of
unmatched commitment to develop and
encourage young leaders and innovation.
We received the award for Best
Educational Institute in Entrepreneurial
“ ‘The Real Heroes” project winners receiving the Best Young Entrepreneur award from
HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid: Amna AbulHoul, Noor AbulHoul, Dana Itani and Inaam Al Marzooqi
Education, which is an exceptional honor
usually awarded to universities. The awards
were presented by Sheikh Mohammad Bin
Rashid Al Maktoum at a special ceremony
in the Dubai International Exhibition
Center. (Seen receiving the awards are Alissar Nasr
We walked away with our awards feeling
proud of our achievements and eager to
win more in the years to come.
This recognition is indeed a reflection of Al Mawakeb’s dedication
to make education meaningful and its enthusiasm to excel.

Jibal El Sawwan
The scene was set
in the simplicity and
warmth of an old village
town. The ambiance radiated
with history and culture.
The music thundered throughout
the theater, and the stage shook
underneath stomping feet as we
watched our students
bring to life a play about defiance,
heroism, and sacrifice.
Two thousand people gathered
to watch the musical Jibal Al
Sawwan unfold at the Dubai
Trade Center. Finally, the long
months of hard work, preparation,
and rehearsals paid off. We
watched our students dance and
www.amsi.ae
perform with great
professionalism
and poise while the
distinguished and
much loved music
of the Rahbani
“
Half a million dirhams
were raised during the
event and presented to the
Mohammed Bin Rashid
Charity Foundation as aid
for the Trillion for
Lebanon Campaign.
Brothers, which was met by the cheering of an
elated audience, played throughout the show.
Much to their
delight, the story
was filled with
historic twists,
imaginary characters
and a good
dose of humor.
Every moment
was captivating.
The acting
enthralled us, the music moved us, and the dances galvanized
us. The audience left the theater feeling proud
and overwhelmed by the incredible vigor and amazing
talent that poured out of our own Al Mawakeb students
that night.
The performance was simply breathtaking!
The play received royal patronage from Her Royal
Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Counselor Mr. Ibrahim BouMelha, director of “Mohammad Bin Rashid Foundation for Charitable and
Humanitarian Works”, receiving from Mr. Adonis Nasr, CEO of “AMSI” a check of 500,000 DHS in the
presence of Mr. Saad Al Zain, representative of the “Trillion Campaign” to rebuild Lebanon.

“
“This is a great competition for our kids to participate in, and it shows we are producing
a generation of tech-smart children,” said Adonis AMSI.“
1 st Engineering &Technology Fair - AUD
This year, our school decided to participate in the first Engineering
and Technology Fair organized by the American University in
Dubai, confident that our students are bright and distinguished, and
fully aware that they will dominate the whole event and mark it with
their own spirit and enthusiasm. Seventeen students from Al Barsha
arrived to AUD with their teachers, both feeling confident that they
would get most of the prizes. When the winners were announced,
Al Mawakeb School students got most of the prizes for their distinguished
projects:
from Catapult, to
Theft Alarm
System, Al
Mawakeb School
students swept the
lead and received
the prize for the
best participating
school. The prize
awarded is an all-inclusive one
year scholarship in industrial
engineering at AUD. We thank
AUD for its efforts throughout
the event and congratulate our
Robotics
Yet another competition earned us another victory
by our dynamic students. The Carnegie Mellon
University - Botball Challenge, a US-based competition
that pushes students to learn how to design,
assemble and program functional robots. This was
a new challenge for students to prove their potential
in the world of engineering and technology.
The competition started when two of our students
traveled to Qatar to attend a condensed
workshop in robotics and programming at
Carnegie Mellon
University. They
returned, three
days later bringing
the challenge
home to Al
Mawakeb School
as they shared
with their team
“
The challenge was important
because he feels the future
depends heavily on robotics
and programming. “I'm planning
to get into bio-chemistry
or bio-technology, and I think
robotics and programming will
help me in my future career,”
said Rashed Toukan, team
leader of Al Mawakeb School
at Al Barsha.
everything about the competition. Two teams, one
from each campus, participated in the event and
were given six weeks to build a robot that must
complete an obstacle course. After showcasing
their creations at the Botball Challenge in front
of a thrilled audience, the judges gave first place
to our team from Al Garhoud.
The competition was a rewarding experience for
our students. Not only did it engage them in
eal-life learning opportunities,
but it also taught them teamwork,
leadership, and dedication.
Our students will certainly have
promising futures in the field of
Robotics.
Al Mawakeb... a special home for 14 years....
14 years today, as parents escorted their 3 year old children into
the school, we all attempted to deal with crying and agitated kids,
but within minutes, an overwhelming exhilaration took over, a feeling
that the journey they were about to take was going to be filled
with revelations and growth.
Our teary-eyed kindergarteners went through an intense journey of
change, self-discovery and development. Together, we witnessed
their transition from hesitant and confused children, to rebellious
and adventurous teenagers and finally to fine young men and
women each with a strong voice and presence.
Our goal has always been to educate you to become independent
thinkers and lifelong learners. We provided you with a unique and
exceptionally nurturing environment that fostered in you an attitude
of strength and self-reliance. Through all of you, we have
seen this dream and aspiration unfold and come to life. You
embody all that we strive to accomplish in our mission to pursue
academic excellence. You are our accomplishments, our rewards
and our pride.
Al Barsha Campus -Kg -12, Girls
Our duty is now over, and you
are about to embark on a more
challenging and enticing journey,
but rest assured that we
will always be one step behind,
reminding you of all the ideals
you learned, the knowledge you
discovered and the potential
you possess.
