30th Graduation Ceremony

3300 yyeeaarrss llaatteerr......
Al Mawakeb… 30 years later… over 300,000 students who at
some point or another made our schools their home… over 4000
graduates later… all are celebrating with us tonight every one of
them proud of you…
It is never easy to bid a loved one farewell… you have watched
them grow…you shared some of their dreams…you have seen
their passion and you may have even glimpsed into their
future…you have seen them fall and rise again… you know their
strength and their weakness and they have made you proud…now
they leave you and are left with the wonder of their memory, and
the gnawing need to find out what they have achieved…
We are teachers and it is our destiny…you pass through our lives
every year and move on…we are privileged for we touch your
lives, and through them we better our own… We shall always hear
of the riches of the world, and never see any of it. What we will
always have is the feeling that no profession can offer… The satisfaction
that comes with a smile of gratitude, or with a handshake
and a hug and a sincere expression of thanks.
At the end of today…there will be a lot of tears and a lot of
smiles… And tonight right before they turn in, your teachers shall
think back upon the years… those who worked with you in any
class along the way, shall remember how you have progressed and
they shall know, that they shall always be part of your lives…
Then they will switch off their lights, smile and sleep very well for
they know that you are going to be fine…
Fare well and know that you are in our hearts...

Class of 2009
Congratulations to the Class Of 2009
After all these years of learning, growing, and maturing, today
the seniors get to come to their Graduation Ceremony and
taste the fruit of your hard work and dedication.
This year brought with it a class of graduates whose objective
was not only to participate but to excel in various activities and
domains. They amazed us with their abilities to take on any
challenge and surpass all expectations.
Winning first and second place, AMSI schools, Al Mawakeb
and ISAS, conquered the Botball Educational Robotics
Competition organized by Carnegie Mellon University in
Qatar. The students dazzled us with their robotics skills and
computer science knowledge and met the challenge with confidence
and vigor.
Similarly, the Young Entrepreneur Competition saw the birth
of their business innovation and ingenuity. They impressed us
with their creative thinking combined with the understanding
of the complexities of the business world. They excelled
among hundreds of competitors leaving us, like always, full of
pride with their ongoing accomplishments and dedication to
self-growth.
Grade 12E -Al Barsha
We witnessed them engage in
diplomacy through the Model
United Nations and tackle world
issues in politics, economy, and
security.
With all this and much more,
you, our graduates, are amazingly
ready to face your new lives.
We hope that, in providing you
with a unique and nurturing environment,
we have fostered in you
an attitude of self-reliance and
compassion for others. Through
all of you, we have seen this
dream and aspiration unfold and
come to life.
We wish you all the best of luck
and may you all venture forth on
an inspiring journey of learning
and success.

Girls K-12, Al Barsha
...a special home for 14 years...
14 years ago, parents and their children packed a favorite lunch box, a few
snacks, and, in some cases, a small toy or book that left a comforting feeling
of familiarity. The sweaty little hands gripped their parents’ as they tugged
open the doors of the school building that would later become their second
home. Mothers and fathers left with everyone else, but then tiptoed back a
moment later and lurked briefly in the doorway, unaware of the friendships
and memories that would be forged within the school walls.
Every year, we witness the eager, confident teachers and the anxious, hopeful
pupils who begin their first step full of promise – an overwhelming experience
altogether. Our teary-eyed kindergarteners went through an intense journey of
change, self-discovery and development. Together, we witnessed their transition
from hesitant and confused children to fine young men and women each with
tremendous confidence and integrity. Now standing tall and fine before us, we
can only think of the good memories that were created; a first dance or song on
Mothers’ Day, triumph during a sports challenge, endless hours cramming for
exams, performances during drama productions or talent shows...Their endless
energy and fervour shone in any challenge that came their way, whether big or
small, academic or fun...They embody the power of kindness, love and respect
Girls K-12, Al Garhoud in the classroom and outside, with friends and
teachers alike.
Our esteemed graduates, the long-awaited
milestone finally arrived.
You have now become independent thinkers
and lifelong learners. You embody all that we
strive to achieve in our mission to pursue
academic excellence. You are our accomplishments,
our rewards and our pride.
You are about to embark on a more enticing
journey, but rest assured that we will always
be one step behind as a reminder of all the
values learned, the knowledge discovered
and the potential you possess.
