1992 - William Craigie Teaching Endowment Grant to develop a case research design to examine
the effects of liberal arts preparation on effective teachers.
1992 - Commonwealth Center for the Education of Teachers Grant to support case study
research of Randolph- Macon College graduates teaching in local school system.
1993 - Commonwealth Center for the Education of Teachers Case Study Mini-grant Award
1995 - William Craigie Teaching Endowment Grant to develop model for collaboration between
teacher preparation faculty, schools, and historical sites.
1997 - Randolph-Macon College Technology Initiative Award to develop technology training
specific to needs of future K-12 educators.
1999 – William Craigie Teaching Endowment Grant for – “Playful Teaching: Is Play an Effective
Teaching Tool?”
2000 - Awarded VFIC Tech Buddy Grant. Grant to work with R-MC student Deverick Strand to
create instructional website for differentiated instruction. Website incorporated into coursework
for Education 322-Educatinal Psychology Field Work.
2002 - William Craigie Teaching Endowment Grant with Dr. B. Gilman to pilot a web-based
program in preparation of future teachers
2003 - Higgins Fellow Appointment at R-MC for three year term. Member of appointed faculty
group to promote and encourage effective college instruction.
