6.5.3 Fees for HBOT<br />
As mentioned above, <strong>the</strong>re is currently no national fee attributed to <strong>the</strong> invoicing code<br />
for HBOT in <strong>the</strong> OPS. At <strong>the</strong> German Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Society, <strong>the</strong><br />
following fees are charged:<br />
• Standard HBO: €180 – 250<br />
• Emergency HBO: < €1 100<br />
• USNTT6: €1 460<br />
6.6 AUSTRALIA<br />
6.6.1 Hyperbaric centres<br />
Australia had a population of 20.34 million people in 2005 on an area of 7.69 million<br />
km 2 . q In Australia and New Zealand, <strong>the</strong>re are only 12 comprehensive hyperbaric<br />
facilities located within hospitals and a number of small free standing facilities. These<br />
facilities tend to concentrate on a narrow spectrum of diseases. 1<br />
6.6.2 Covered indications and fees for HBOT<br />
Table 36 presents an overview of covered indications and <strong>the</strong> fee-for-service by<br />
