destroying the beauty of creation. It is difficult for someone to start thinking about
beneficial construction when a mist of blood is fogging up his consciousness, but sooner
or later he will have to turn to the power of purified thought. Therefore, it is better to
begin sooner.
128. The process of conceiving ideas is deeply rooted in the foundation of Being.
Without ideation there cannot be striving to knowledge or creation. How can a spirit
create if it has not been persuaded to do so by ideation? How can a spirit speak about the
Highest Principle if no ideation has been laid in the foundation of Being? The values of
the spirit are distinguished according to this criterion. Without ideation this manifestation
would be nothing more than the dance of a skeleton. But as you see, a balm is now
needed to heal the putrefying portions of humankind.
129. It is harmful to keep in one’s living quarters the skins or body parts of maneating
animals and other instruments of necromancy. A person who has grasped the
significance of magnetism in the human organism understands the vital power of the
organism’s fluids and how unnatural it is to mix the fluids of a human with those of
animals in various forms; that is why any sort of man-eating is a festival for the dark
forces. Moreover, the bodies in the lower strata of the Subtle World are especially drawn
to necromancy.
130. The most sublime experiments are reduced to the tricks of fakirs who, instead of
inducing the growth of a mango tree with the power of thought, adroitly attach some fruit
to a branch. The best human achievements are debased by similar means, but We shall
continue on the true, primordial path so as to not violate the law of Being.
131. I am now advising that scientists pay attention to the organism’s sensitivity to all
sorts of inexplicable phenomena—the sensation of goose flesh is one example. Of course,
this can be explained as a nervous contraction, yet it is instructive to pay attention to
whether or not there is something alien in the surrounding atmosphere. Such observations
are quite useful when one is investigating psychic energy. Something makes the physical
atmosphere tense and acts on the surface of the skin and the nerves. This physical
reaction should be investigated from a chemical point of view as something that
accelerates nervous contractions. Rays and currents are so close to the Subtle World! But
the people conducting these investigations should first of all learn to pay attention to
sensations. Doctors themselves pay less attention than anyone else to the great variety of
sensations. They divide complex organisms into primitive parcels, and that prevents them
from making their observations more subtle.
132. Think every day about the tasks that the New World poses. Strive to the New
World as if it were something standing right on the other side of the door. Nobody should
just leave it to others to take care of the New World, since every one of us has to grasp
what it means.
We ought to gather, even in small groups, so that we get used to being part of a
community.
