An Online Suggestion Box is available<br />
<strong>for</strong> patrons to suggest materials to<br />
be acquired. The Online Interloan &<br />
Document Delivery Service Form can<br />
be filled up <strong>for</strong> unavailable materials.<br />
Online Patron Registration Form is<br />
available <strong>for</strong> outside communities<br />
to use its services and facilities. This<br />
significant contribution is to assist the<br />
communities to have easy access to<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mation and knowledge in this<br />
era of <strong>life</strong>-long education.<br />
The campus community can reserve<br />
available facilities through the<br />
Facility Booking Module.<br />
The Material Flow Management<br />
System supports and automates<br />
daily activities in security, materials<br />
processing, self check-in and check<br />
out as well as inventory control. The<br />
smart-in system or the Book Drop<br />
allows daily 24 hour check-in. Radio<br />
Frequency Identification (RFID) tags<br />
further enhances stocktaking.<br />
CAIS Digital has been created to<br />
provide patrons with more efficient<br />
access to knowledge as well as<br />
develop the University’s intellectual<br />
property. All the University’s<br />
publications are contained in<br />
the database. These include<br />
monographs, serials, theses and<br />
undergraduate’s final year project<br />
papers, papers/proceedings of<br />
seminars, conferences and<br />
workshops, research papers as<br />
well as photos/videos of the<br />
University’s activities.<br />
The Extended Modules were<br />
acquired to further enhance the<br />
effectiveness of services available.<br />
Smart Library Skills module is a<br />
web-based self-learning module<br />
of instruction. It supports and<br />
complements the existing in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />
Skills Classes.<br />
The Smart Reference Desk is a user<br />
enquiry system to provide online<br />
InfoTalk<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mation. It facilitates interaction<br />
between individuals and a virtual<br />
reference desk. Ask the Librarian<br />
provides quick reference service<br />
and basic answers to brief factual<br />
questions, while the FAQ database<br />
contains answers to questions<br />
asked.<br />
Visitor Tracking allows <strong>for</strong> the<br />
monitoring of visitors as well as the<br />
automatic registration of interested<br />
visitors as members.<br />
