QUICK GUIDETO VERVE 10What is Verve?Verve is the award winning postgraduateperformance company of the Northern School ofContemporary Dance. In 2010 the companycomprises 11 dancers who will perform 22 showsin the UK and Europe. The School is one of theUK’s leading conservatoire dance schools andoffers full time courses in contemporary dance atfoundation, degree and postgraduate diploma/MAlevels.What will be performed?Verve performs contemporary dance by leadingchoreographers. The 2010 programme is a mixedbill of dance works featuring a selection of workfrom new commissions by leadingchoreographers Laïla Diallo, Luis Lara Malvacías,Michael Schumacher, Kathinka Walter and DavidZambrano.Who will enjoy it?The wide variety of work offers something foreveryone. The length of the pieces and the widerange of choreographic styles make it particularlysuitable for those new to contemporary dance.The high standard of performance andchoreography will delight dance fans.Who is it suitabile for?Verve is ideal for adults and young people aged13+, particularly those studying dance. There areno age restrictions or warnings for thisperformance.What is the running time?Approximately 100 minutes including a 20-minuteinterval at mid-point.
