LDAalpine lecture seriesAlicia HaefeleIntern, LDAOver 30 LDA members and their family andfriends chose to spend their Mardi Grasvacation at The Canyons Resort in Park City, Utahfor the Alpine Lecture Series. Located just fourmiles from the historic Main Street, The Canyonsallowed attendees to enjoy all the nightlife, diningand shopping that the town of ParkCity has to offer while enjoying ngaworld-class skiing vacation.The LDA lined up twoamazing speakers, Dr.Henry Gremillion, dean ofthe LSUSD, and Dr. RichTuttle. Dr. Gremillion’sfirst lecture, TMD/Orofacial Pain Diagnosis andManagement: Where Are Weand Where Are We Going?,taught course attendees aboutthe individualization of carefor this challenging, yet common mongroup of disorders. His second dlecture,Oral Health as Part of Overall Health: Implicationfor the Future, explained that technological andtechnique-related advances have greatly enhanceddiagnostic and treatment outcomes. He also wenton to discuss the new vistas for 2011, differentialdiagnosis and management of commonlyoccurring headaches and related conditions, sleepdisturbances and pharmacotherapeutic advancesin the treatment of orofacial pain. Dr. Tuttle’slecture, New Concepts in Safe and Less InvasiveEndodontics: A Reciprocating Stainless Steel and NiTiSystem, evaluated the Tilos System and its abilityto safely and effectively perform root canals in aless invasive fashion.Attendees were able to earn up to 12 hoursof C.E. credit at the Alpine Lecture Series, butdo not think that this trip was all work related.The Canyons provided dentists and their guestsLDA Members Hit the Slopes for the Alpine LectureSeries Mardi Gras Extravaganzabeautiful views and an abundance of wintersports.
