Spring Creek LivingAdvisory Group HighlightsMarch and April included our second round of meetings using our new operating procedures. We are pleasedwith its implementation so far, but are always open to further suggestions. Next month, we will be looking particularlyat our communication plan. We want to ensure that we are using all reasonable means to keep communitymembers informed. Our current documented procedures include regular announcements made on theYahoo group and the Association website; the newsletter is also delivered quarterly to every mailbox cubby. If you have specific ideas about how we can better communicate, please let us know. One member of theBoard of the Spring Creek Community Association has suggested informally that the Advisory Group establishbylaws and formal procedures for elections and meetings.Upcoming Advisory Group MeetingJune 12, 2012, 6:00 pmCommunity ClubhouseTopics for discussion: Sub-group reports Fall maintenance and safety items Communication plan review Report from Sports Group and land plannerregarding future amenitiesIf you cannot attend, but have comments to share, please contact any Advisory Group member. The Advisory Group will share recommendationsfrom this meeting with the Board of Directors priorto the July 10 meeting.Spring Creek Living is the bi-monthly newsletter for of the Spring Creek Community Association, Inc.At our March meeting, the Advisory Group tookthe opportunity to clarify information about theswim team, as approved by the Board of Directorsin November. The final contract has beennegotiated between the team and the Board, andan updated information sheet has been includedas part of this newsletter. We look forward tohearing your feedback about the team throughoutthe summer. We also heard community input about spendingthe discretionary funds. At the recommendationof the Sports Group, we asked the Board to considerinstalling a multi-sport court in the community. The Board of Directors will hire a landplanner to research available sites for this court;the land planner may also survey residents andmake recommendations about other potentialfuture amenities. Officers of the Spring CreekCommunity Association advised us as thisnewsletter was being written that the Associationengaged Roudabush Gale & Associates, itsland planner, to consider locations for the sports court. Space constraints, existing uses, and grading costswere taken into consideration. The land planners determined based on that information that there was onlyone feasible location: the graded area adjacent to the existing tennis courts. Construction planning will beginsoon. The location for the Sports Court is not necessarily permanent. The development of future phases ofSpring Creek could lead to relocation of the Sports Court in the future. The Advisory Group has continued to highlight resident requests for an operational back gate; at the Aprilmeeting, the Board announced that they have secured a bid for this project and work should begin soon. Withthis project, the new hardwood floors in the clubhouse, and the wheelchair lift for the pool, the Board hasbeen hard at work getting the community ready for spring and summer.Volume 6, Issue 2May 2012CurbsideRecyclingRecycling will be pickedup on Thursdays. You may place the followingitems in your recyclingbin: Newspaper Magazines Office paper Cardboard Plastic bottles Tin Aluminum and bimetalcans GlassThe speed limit onSpring Creek and BearIsland Parkways is 25mph.
