There will betwo dates offered: Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, April 10, 2011 at3:00 PM for the purpose of discussingPolicy Resolution #8: Vehicle Policies; as it relates to “Vehicle Parking, Rules,Regulations and Guidelines”A copy of the draft of the proposed language to be added to the resolution isenclosed for your review. The substantive changes include the following:• Requiring all vehicle parked on GoM property to display either a GoMvehicle decal in the lower left corner of the rear window or a hang tag(primarily used for guests) that will be hung from the rear view mirror ofthe vehicle.• Each unit will be given two hang tags for second/guest vehicles. Theissuance of the hang tags does not guarantee that the holder of the tagwill be able to find a parking space.• The number of decals distributed to owners/residents will change to: onebedroom/one decal; two bedrooms/two decals and three bedrooms/threedecals.• The number of days that a vehicle displaying a decal can park in anunreserved space would be reduced from thirty (30) to fourteen (14).• The rent of parking spaces is proposed to go down $50 per lease term(i.e., a 6 month lease will now have a monthly rent of $150, 12 monthlease a monthly rent of $125, 18 month lease a monthly rent of $100 anda 24 month lease a monthly rent of $75). Those residents who already arerenting spaces will be given the reduced rental rate at the beginning of thenext month that the rates are adopted.Policy Resolution #9: Pet Polices; as it relates to rules and regulationsregarding pets.• Tenant residents will be required to pay a $25 fee per pet (only one pet isallowed per unit unless granted a waiver by the Board of Directors) uponmove in and owner residents will be required to pay an annual pet fee of$25 on Labor Day weekend.• There will be a weight limit of 45 pounds per pet (at full maturity). Pets thatexceed that limit who are registered with the Management Office within 30days of the effective date of the revised resolution will be grandfathered.

The Board of Directors is considering adding the above referenced resolutionchanges in an effort to be proactive in addressing chronic and worsening parking andpet problems. With the imminent arrival of Metro, the Board is seeking to monitor andregulate the use of unreserved parking spaces in a fair and equitable manner. And,given that recent issues with pet waste in the common areas led to a monthly expensefor pet waste pickup and the purchase of additional pet waste stations, the Board feltthat those costs should be funded by pet owners through a pet registration fee.In addition to the public hearing, there will also be a town hall meeting whereresidents can address their concerns about the community before the Board ofDirectors. Among the topics expected to be discussed are the post tension cable repairproject and the associated defoliating of the community. You are welcome to bringadditional concerns to the Board at the meeting and also via email athelp@gatesofmclean.org.Before adopting any of the proposed revisions, the Board wishes to solicit ownerfeedback and answer any questions through the scheduled public hearings. Each unitowner will have that opportunity during the hearing, which will be held at the Clubhouse,located at 1510 Spring Gate Drive, McLean, Virginia, beginning at 7:30 PM on April 5,2011 and at 3:00 PM on April 10, 2011.
