Quality Council, the <strong>2006</strong> Mission Assurance Forum held<br />
June 28–30 helped attendees understand how the work they<br />
do every day determines the success or failure of our<br />
customers’ missions.<br />
Forum speakers encouraged the more than 600 attendees to<br />
return to basics: focus on lessons learned, test rigorously, guard<br />
against the flow of new requirements, flow down the Mission<br />
Assurance message to subcontractors and suppliers, manage<br />
risks, and remain disciplined when following processes. A customer<br />
panel on the final day of the forum emphasized that<br />
Mission Assurance involves more than checking boxes; it’s<br />
about building a culture where every employee takes pride in<br />
the work they do every day.<br />
During a special evening banquet, 20 teams were<br />
presented with 2005 Quality Excellence and Excellence<br />
in Operations Awards. Selected from a pool of 892<br />
nominees, the 88 winners demonstrate Mission Assurance in<br />
action and set an example for the more than 80,000 <strong>Raytheon</strong><br />
employees around the world.<br />
