Physics LectureOn Tuesday 4 th December, eighteen Year 12 and 13 Physics studentswent to a lecture at Nottingham University on “GravitationalLensing: Revealing The Dark Side Of The Universe”, presented byDoctor Meghan Grayd. It was very informative and the best yet in thisongoing series of talks, sponsored by the Institute of Physics. Therewas definitely some enthusiastic debate and discussion on the wayhome!Mr T Berry ry Teacher of ScienceSociology ConferenceOn November 19th, 38 AS and A2 level students were taken to aSociology conference in London - hearing from prominent speakers inthe world of Sociology, such as Jock Young and Rosemary Crompton.Lectures were diverse and covered issues such as the state of religionin the UK, measuring crime rates, and the future of the family. Theprincipal examiner for AQA also gave very useful advice on how to getthe best marks in examinations.
