However, clubs <strong>and</strong> regions should endeavour to make themselvesaware of the local authority Protection of vulnerable adults arrangements, policies <strong>and</strong> procedures as they relate to sports. The CWO shouldobtain the Local Authority lead officer’s name <strong>and</strong> contact details.5.6 Regulated Activity Providers <strong>and</strong> ISA referralsUnder the <strong>Safeguarding</strong> <strong>Vulnerable</strong> Groups Act 2006 any organisation, including a sports club, may be regarded as a Regulated Activity Providerif it offers services for those in vulnerable groups, that is, for children aged under 18 years or people who may be vulnerable adultsUnder the SVG Act the Regulated Activity Provider has a legal responsibility to refer anyone who it has removed from a Regulated Activitydue to safeguarding concerns, to the ISA. (See WG 2.9).
