(MDI) and the inventor of the MDI technology.Meeting the inventor Guy Nègre, an engineer who holds over 100 enginepatents to his name including 3 patents co-owned with the French oilcompany ELF and 2 jointly with “Institute Français du Pétrole” (FrenchPetroleum Institute) gave de la Torre an insight to his passion for cuttingedge design.He has designed over 100 engines, from Formula 1 and light aircraft engines to the presentfamily of advanced compressed air engines. He is now world renowned for his compressedair engine and the new thermodynamic cycle he invented.The initial pioneering work led to the firsttrials in 1992 of cars running on compressedair. Since then he has produced a series ofcompressed air engine models to arrive atthe present designs that are being readiedfor commercial release soon.Nègre is also the inventor and developer ofthe MDI distributed manufacturing processfor all applications of the MDI Technologythat enables reducing vehicle manufacturingcosts by 75%.In late 2008, MDI launched the ‘Air Pod’.Pictured here is Guy Nègre and Mr ChristianEstrosi, Major of Nice, MP of the FrenchParliament.
