<strong>BME</strong> <strong>4900</strong> FINAL REPORT 9Team 82.2 Optimal Design2.2.1 ObjectiveThe objective <strong>of</strong> this final design is to provide a cheap, cost-effective system thatis capable <strong>of</strong> mimicking the physiological properties <strong>of</strong> the horizontal saccade controller<strong>of</strong> the brain. In essence, the complete system consists <strong>of</strong> a series <strong>of</strong> subsystems designedto imitate the behavior <strong>of</strong> actual neuronal populations in the horizontal saccadecontroller (see Fig. 5).Figure 5.
