The <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Work</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong>has been providing pr<strong>of</strong>essional social work educ<strong>at</strong>ion since 1964 and has gradu<strong>at</strong>ed more than 5,000students across B.S.W., M.S.W., Ph.D. and Masters <strong>of</strong> Management in Nonpr<strong>of</strong>it Organiz<strong>at</strong>ion degreeprograms. The <strong>School</strong> has also established joint degree programs with <strong>the</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Law and <strong>the</strong>College <strong>of</strong> Public Health. The <strong>School</strong> is n<strong>at</strong>ionally and intern<strong>at</strong>ionally known for excellence in teaching,research, public service, and intern<strong>at</strong>ional programs, as well as our commitment to social and economicjustice. The <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Work</strong> is committed to hiring new faculty who work towards allevi<strong>at</strong>ingdisparities and promoting social justice through <strong>the</strong>ir teaching, scholarship/research, service and/oradministr<strong>at</strong>ive responsibilities.Requirements for positionsThe <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Work</strong> is searching to fill four positions; three <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> rank <strong>of</strong> assistant pr<strong>of</strong>essor andone <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> rank <strong>of</strong> associ<strong>at</strong>e or full pr<strong>of</strong>essor. Two positions are for clinical practice and two for macropractice. Applic<strong>at</strong>ions must demonstr<strong>at</strong>e strong research capacity and potential for external funding.Applic<strong>at</strong>ions for higher rank (advanced assistant pr<strong>of</strong>essorships may be considered) must demonstr<strong>at</strong>e asuccessful record <strong>of</strong> externally funded research. Previous experience or interest with online teaching isdesired. Responsibilities include: teaching, research, field liaison duties, and service.Particular areas <strong>of</strong> interest include, but are not limited to: gerontology, human development across <strong>the</strong>life course, social inequalities, health, mental health and health disparities. Although <strong>the</strong>re isopportunity to teach across <strong>the</strong> educ<strong>at</strong>ional continuum, two positions will be assigned primarily to <strong>the</strong>BSW program. Candid<strong>at</strong>es for <strong>the</strong> assistant pr<strong>of</strong>essor positions must have a Ph.D. in social work orcogn<strong>at</strong>e discipline (e.g. psychology, sociology, public health, neuroscience, economics), and, an M.S.W.degree (consider<strong>at</strong>ion will be given to those with two years post-master’s practice experience).Candid<strong>at</strong>es for higher rank must hold a Ph.D. (or terminal degree in <strong>the</strong>ir field <strong>of</strong> study) in social workor a rel<strong>at</strong>ed field (psychology, economics, neuroscience, gerontology, public health, sociology); adistinguished record <strong>of</strong> scholarship and successful record <strong>of</strong> extramural research funding; teaching, andservice.
