Meet <strong>the</strong> Staff!Jessica Leary Allen, Executive DirectorJessica has been at <strong>Fairmount</strong> <strong>Center</strong> since July 2011 but firstwalked through <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fairmount</strong> doors more than 30 years ago asa Kinderdance student. Raised with a deep appreciation <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>arts and <strong>the</strong> value of an art education, Jessica grew up playing<strong>the</strong> French horn and piano and tried her hand at everything fromceramics to musical <strong>the</strong>atre to creative writing. She earned her BS in journalism fromOhio University and returned <strong>the</strong>re to complete her masters in public administrationwhere she focused on non-profit administration. Jessica’s passions include travel,cooking, outdoor walks, live music with her husband, and hanging out with herkindergarten son and identical twin daughters, age 3. A closet spelling and grammarnut, her pet peeve is sloppy grammar.Sarah Lenk, Office ManagerSarah graduated from <strong>the</strong> Ohio State University in 2007 with aBachelor’s Degree in Art. She currently lives with her husband Alex,a chef, and <strong>the</strong>ir goldendoodle puppy, Louie, in Chesterland. At29, she still does not know what she wants to do when she is“grown up” but knows it has to do with her favorite thing, art. In herspare time, Sarah loves to go camping with friends, watch movies and work in herart studio. Her least favorite things are cleaning up after her loving husband, runningand tapioca. She likes to keep an open mind and will try anything once.Her favorite quote is:Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrityof purpose and imaginative vision against <strong>the</strong> play-it-safers, <strong>the</strong> creatures of<strong>the</strong> commonplace, <strong>the</strong> slaves of <strong>the</strong> ordinary.- Cecil BeatonMarilyn Vlah, Administrative Assistant“I have been involved in <strong>the</strong> non-profit world a good part of myworking life. I worked in non-profit prior to <strong>Fairmount</strong> and findthat being at <strong>Fairmount</strong> is quite special! My children took variousclasses when <strong>the</strong>y were young so I knew of <strong>Fairmount</strong> prior to myemployment. My daughter is in <strong>the</strong> arts today so being here musthave stuck” says Marilyn. Marilyn is now retired but staying home is not her thing.She believes a passion <strong>for</strong> what you do is #1 in life. Number #2…a good sense ofhumor.Melanie Reda, Office AssistantMelanie started working this summer at <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fairmount</strong> <strong>Center</strong>.Though her siblings claimed all of <strong>the</strong> artistic talent in her family,she still has a strong appreciation <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> talents that o<strong>the</strong>rs areable to foster through dance, music, and art. Melanie was bornand raised on <strong>the</strong> east side of Cleveland and despite some adventures in Australiaand Guatemala, she keeps coming back. After graduating from Ohio Nor<strong>the</strong>rnUniversity with a BS in International Business and Economics, she went on to continueher master’s studies at Sou<strong>the</strong>rn New Hampshire University in Community EconomicDevelopment. After 2 years living in Guatemala as a Peace Corps Volunteer, Melanieis also fluent in Spanish.
