OSCEOLA COUNTY LODGE #2523Gertrude Dorries, PresidentOSCEOLA COUNTY SONS OF ITALY LODGE #2523 celebrated their 29 th Anniversary during their general meeting.President, Gertrude Dorries along with newly elected Carolyn Cianciotta, Grand Lodge State 2 nd Vice President andAnthony Cianciotta, Grand Lodge State Treasurer and National Delegate who were happy to share this special night withlodge members. BUONA FORTUNA LODGE #2835Pete Resedean, PresidentThe Buona Fortuna Lodge #2835 has had a busy summer planning for all of our Fallevents. September 23-25 the Lodge will participate in the Pensacola Seafood Festival.They will have a food booth and be selling their award winning Shrimp ScampiNapolitano to a crowd projected to number 100,000 over the 3 day event. In addition toselling their signature dish they will be promoting the Sons of Italy and also solicitingnew members for the lodge. This is the first time they have been able to participate inthis particular event and the lodge members are very optimistic that food sales andmembership will make this a hugely successful weekend.On October 8 two weeks after the Seafood festival, the lodge will have their secondannual Italian Festa which is being chaired by Joyce Bollenbacher and Patricia Russo.Last year's event was very successful and resulted in an additional 17 members signingup to join the lodge during the one day event. This year with the advertising andpromotion to be done two weeks earlier at the Pensacola Seafood Festival and anappearance on a local TV morning show by the lodge chef will hopefully mean more exposure and more participants atthe Festa.On October 22 at 11:00 am at NAS Pensacola Softball Fields Buona Fortuna will have its semi-annual bocce tournamentopen to all lodge members and any other Sons of Italy members wishing to participate. Lou Brizzi and Tony Carbone willbe cooking their signature sausage, pepper, and onions and members will be bringing side dishes.
