Hugo Barreto is the Secretary-General of the Roberto Marinho Foundation (part of the Globo<br />
media conglomerate), a Brazilian institution set up in 1997 to coordinate projects related to<br />
education, the environment, heritage and television.<br />
PAuline Couture<br />
Pauline Couture is an author and strategic communication consultant whose career has<br />
encompassed all aspects of broadcasting, including journalism, on-air performance,<br />
production, strategy, regulatory work and executive management. Her consultancy portfolio<br />
includes public and private sector clients, as well as foundations from Canada and around<br />
the world. She is highly sought-after as a public speaker and moderator in many fields. She<br />
is a language lover who writes and works in French and English, and is currently studying<br />
Mandarin.<br />
GeetA dhArmArAjAn<br />
Geeta Dharmarajan is a writer, editor and educator, as well as the Executive Director of<br />
Katha, a non-profit organization she founded in 1988. Her innovative, award-winning work is<br />
geared to uniting India’s different language communities. She views translation as a means<br />
of fostering unity, reinforcing diversity and offering the illiterate equity and the opportunity<br />
to participate in lifelong learning. Her efforts to further education and reduce poverty have<br />
brought change and introduced the joy of reading to 8 million women and children in slums<br />
and tribal villages.<br />
AzzA ezzAt<br />
Azza Ezzat holds a BSc in tourism and hotels from the <strong>University</strong> of Alexandria, and is<br />
currently studying for a master’s degree in caricature, humour and satire in ancient Egypt<br />
during the New Kingdom. During her career at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, she has organized<br />
numerous writing, calligraphy and inscription events, and participated in the editing and<br />
translation of several books, including History of Writing: From Ideogram to Multimedia,<br />
for which she received a prize from the Kuwait Foundation, How to Read Ancient Egyptian<br />
Language and Lost Languages.<br />
