It produces avapour-sealing aqueous film thatspreads rapidly over the fuel surfaceto provide rapid control andextinguishment.• Film-forming for fast flameknockdown and extinguishment.• Burnback resistance and post-firesecurity.• Foam blanket reseals whenruptured by personnel orequipment.APPLICATIONSTridol C 6 is used in high risksituations where hydrocarbons (suchas crude oil, gasoline, diesel fuel,and aviation kerosene) are stored,processed, or transported. It is usedextensively on Rapid InterventionVehicles (RIV) at major internationalairports and military bases wherefast extinguishment with limitedquantities of foam is essential forsaving life. Other applicationsinclude hydrocarbon storage tanks,process areas, warehouses, road/railloading racks, power stations,marine terminals, and offshoreplatforms.Tridol C 6 provides a vapoursuppressingfoam blanket onunignited hydrocarbon spills.Tridol C 6 can also be used as awetting agent in combating fires inClass A materials such as wood,paper, and tyres.PERFORMANCEThe fire performance of Tridol C 6 ismeasured primarily againstUnderwriters Laboratories StandardUL 162 (7th Edition).UL LISTINGSTridol C 6 is UL Listed.EQUIPMENTTridol C 6 is intended for use at 6%(6 parts concentrate to 94 partswater).Tridol C 6 is readily proportionedusing conventional foamproportioning equipment such asportable and fixed (in-line) foamventuri proportioners, handlinenozzles/branchpipes with pick-uptubes, balanced pressure variableflow proportioners, balancedpressure bladder tank proportioners,and around-the-pump proportioners.Tridol C 6 can be used with airaspirating discharge devices such aslow expansion branchpipes,monitors, top pourer sets, rimsealfoam pourers, foam/water sprinklers,and base (sub-surface) injectionsystems.Tridol C 6 can be used with nonaspiratingdischarge devices such asspray/fog branchpipes and nozzles,monitors, and spray/fog sprinklers.However, non-aspirated applicationis not recommended as the primarymethod of attack for major fireswhere a stable foam cover isessential.COMPATIBILITYTridol C 6 is suitable for use incombination with:• Soft or hard, fresh, brackish or seawater.•Dry powder extinguishing agentseither separately or as twin agentsystems.• Expanded protein-based orsynthetic foams for application toa fire in sequence orsimultaneously.ref: 5166/2/7.04 page: 1 of 2
