www.angusfire.co.ukK40 & K20 Foam / Water SprinklersThese Angus Foam/Water sprinklersare open, air aspirating dischargeheads designed for use as part ofan engineered fire protectionsystem. Each sprinkler is designedfor mounting in the pendantposition and produces a solid conedischarge (as detailed overleaf),with very similar spray patterns forboth foam and water. The fireprotection system can therefore bedesigned in accordance with NFPA11/16, to deliver an initial foamdischarge to combat a flammableliquid fire, followed by a period ofwater discharge to provideadditional cooling if required. The K40 Mk2 is designed to meet6.5 litres/metre 2 /minute applicationrates under NFPA spacingrequirements, whilst the K20 Mk2 isdesigned for applications requiring4.1 litres/metre 2 /minute.These well tried and testedfoam/water sprinklers are installedworldwide. Popular applicationsinclude process area protection, road and rail tanker loading bays, warehousing and aircraft hangars. They are particularly well suited foruse in high risk situations wheremixed risk flammable liquids arestored. When used in conjunctionwith Angus Alcoseal AR-FFFP multipurposefoam concentrate both K40Mk2 and K20 Mk2 provide excellentquality of finished foam, sealing offvapours and protecting against reignition. Both these foam/water sprinklersare compact, robust andconsequently less easily damagedthan conventional designs. Eachsprinkler is entirely constructedfrom 316 stainless steel, whichprovides excellent corrosionresistance and makes themparticularly well suited to processarea and coastal applications. They are designed to producefinished foam with an expansionratio in the range 5:1 to 7:1 over a1 - 7 bar.g. (15 - 100 psi) operatingrange.Flow (litres/min) = K√P where P isinlet pressure (bar.g.)APPROVALSLloyd’s Register of Shipping : K40Mk2Maritime and Coastguard Agency :K40 Mk2ref: 3975/6/4.05 page: 1 of 2Lloyd’sRegister
