which shows the development of foreign-owned companies<br />

and the represented in the <strong>Göteborg</strong> <strong>Region</strong>, it is<br />

apparent that most companies are Norwegian and the<br />

last report showed the same. However, in 2004, it was<br />

Germany which had the highest number of companies<br />

in the region. Norwegian companies have had a strong<br />

growth since the last measurement – from 280 compa-<br />

nies in 2006 to 350 companies in 2008. Looking over<br />

the last ten years, the number of Norwegian companies<br />

have increased from 100 to 350 – 250 %! The number<br />

of German companies, on the other hand, has decreased<br />

from 260 companies to 240. The United States ends up<br />

third while Denmark still holds number four on this<br />

ranking. In addition: new countries have joined us: Malta,<br />

Serbia/Montenegro, Peru, and Latvia. In total, 47<br />

countries are represented among all foreign owned companies<br />

in the <strong>Göteborg</strong> <strong>Region</strong>.<br />
