Conduct on CampusAcademic integrity lies at the heart <strong>of</strong> scholastic life. By registering as a student at Biztek, you acknowledge the awareness<strong>of</strong> discipline code, academic rules, regulations and pledge that they must be upheld in letter and spirit. Acts that constitutebreach <strong>of</strong> discipline or academic integrity include, but are not limited to, the following:Plagiarism and other acts <strong>of</strong> academic indecenciesTo plagiarize is to use someone's work, ideas, images etc. without attribution. This issue applies to all students' assignments,reports, projects, thesis etc. Likewise, not acknowledging the help <strong>of</strong> people in your projects, assignments, reports etc.is an inappropriate behavior.All materials submitted for assessment and towards completion <strong>of</strong> a course work must be your original work, unlessspecified otherwise by the instructor. Presenting your work, assignments, projects, reports, etc. for more than one courseis also not allowed strictly. Deliberately changing facts and figures to support the argument is another act that can beviewed as an ethical violation for completion <strong>of</strong> assignments, projects and reports.Copyright laws must be adhered while using copyright materials. You may ask the librarian for further guidance in theissue.Conduct on CampusUsing unfair means in the examsCheating includes, but is not limited to, copying <strong>from</strong> another paper, helping or assisting others with verbal or writtenmaterial, obtaining unauthorized advance knowledge <strong>of</strong> the question paper, use <strong>of</strong> any unauthorized computing device,etc. The <strong>Institute</strong> has a resolute stance using any unfair means. The examinations department's decision in this regard isfinal. Anyone found indulging in such behavior that is unbecoming <strong>of</strong> a student in the examination, would stand failedin the exam, but if anything severe is reported Academic Disciplinary Committee's decision based on their findings willbe considered final.AttendanceAttendance is mandatory in all lectures, seminars etc. Maximum <strong>of</strong> 20% absence on genuine written record is admissible.Attendance falling short <strong>of</strong> 80% will disqualify the student to sit in the final examination, and he/she will receive an 'F'grade.Disrespect towards teachers and staffAny act or discourse <strong>of</strong> the student that is inappropriate <strong>of</strong> a student is likely to be treated as disrespect and, if reportedand confirmed in an enquiry finding, will result in cancellation <strong>of</strong> admission. <strong>Institute</strong> has highest regard for its teachersand upholds the traditional value <strong>of</strong> respect for the teachers.Smoking and use <strong>of</strong> Drugs<strong>Institute</strong> has declared itself a non smoking-zone. Therefore, no one is allowed to smoke in the campus. A fine is chargedon violation <strong>of</strong> the rule.Other MisconductsThese include political involvement, indecent behavior and spreading rumors or misinformation, etc. They will be notedand punished severely by the Academic Discipline Committee if students are found guilty <strong>of</strong> such misconducts.Penal code for Academic Dishonesty and Discipline ViolationAll academic and discipline violations are within the jurisdiction <strong>of</strong> either a faculty member or the Dean <strong>of</strong> the Facultyor Academic Discipline Committee.31
