She was born Bet. 1785 - 1790, and diedBef. 1817. He married (2) MARY (POLLY) UNKNOWN Abt. 1814 in Prob NY State. She was born Bet. 1793 - 1794in Sullivan Co., NY, and died Aft. 1880 in Manchester Twnsp, Wayne Co., PA.Notes for JAMES LORD: Interesting comment is that James Mother was a ‘Welsh Woman”. Common amongthose of mixed ancestry, accounting for the darker complexion/hair color. Weslager made this same remark in his“History of the Delaware Indians”—as did Conrad Weiser, noted interpreter/ liaison between settlers and theMohawk Indians. Also common—there was no mention made of James wife, at least on the pages available, whenwriting about this family.Phineas Goodrich makes the observation pg 227 of his ‘Wayne County History” (reprint 1992)— “ James wasassessed, in 1812, as owning four acres of plow land and 439 acres of unimproved land, one house and one horse,although it is claimed he began in 1810.” He settled on the farm now owned by Taylors. James appears onthe census,for the last time in 1870, Wayne Co.,Notes for UNKNOWN: Family lore says she was Delaware Indian, same family as James 2nd wife. This wascommon——Indian or not. However, a letter from Cora Adams Ballard, daughter ofBenjamin Adams and Angeline Jensen, a niece of Freeman Jensen, who married Clarissa Adams, sister to Ben—stated, 1912,“ My Maternal Grandmother was sister to Abraham Lord’s wife, Rebecca.”This statement is also quoted in a speech Dr. Ballard gave in the 1930s at a Family Reunion in Hancock/Lordville.Solomon Jensen is documentably Angeline Jensen’s father (family letters, census records, family Bible) and Cora’sgrandfather—leaving little room for doubt as to “ her Maternal Grandmother.”Rebecca was contemporary in age—a year apart, as noted in census records— with Solomon Jensen, father toAngeline, Freemen, et al. Had she been a Jensen, it would be more likely he was her brother-but this was not howthe relationship was explained.They were both producing children at/ about the same time.Esther/Hester Cole is the wife of of Solomon Jensen, according to the records of Hancock—Clarence Zurn lookedfor me.—three descendants records give her maiden name thus.
