The Olympic Stadium will have a capacity of 80,000 during the Games: 25,000 inits permanent lower tier and a lightweight steel and concrete upper tier holding afurther 55,000. The upper tier can be dismantled after the Games.The solution built is a genuinely compact, low-energy stadium. It’s a functionalyet elegant response to a range of complex needs. The roof is supportedindependently from the terrace seating, allowing easier dismantling at a futuredate. The MEP design is flexible so that temporary cooling and power can beprovided for events.
