The third paragraph of thatletter states:Installation of AS3509, AS3510 and AS3511 safety cable on aircraftis governed by FAR § 43.13, Performance Rules (general). FAR § 43.13(a) states in part: “Each person performing maintenance, alteration, orpreventative maintenance on an aircraft, engine, propeller, or applianceshall use the methods, techniques and practices prescribed in thecurrent manufacturer’s maintenance manual or Instructions for ContinuedAirworthiness prepared by its manufacturer, or other methods, techniques,and practices acceptable to the Administrator…”It is the responsibility of the installer of safety cable to determinewhere safety cable can or cannot be installed in accordance with FAAregulations, OEM Practice Standards, or Department of Defense(DOD) directives.
