Thekerosene will float.Dip a rag into themixture, don’tsqueeze too dry andwash windows in acircular motion. Wipeover afterwards with apiece of towelling.■ Another goodmethod is to mixequal parts ofmethylated spirit,kerosene, ammoniaand water. Moisten acloth with this and rubwindows to clean andpolish in oneoperation.■ If you live near thesea mix together 2.5tablespoons ofcornflour and half acup each of cloudyammonia and brownvinegar. Shake welland apply with adamp sponge, thenrub with dampnewspaper to rid allthe salt from theoutside.Young artists stepinto the spotlightBUDDING artists turnedout in force at the<strong>Devonport</strong> Library lastweekend for the NationalYouth Week artexhibition.The event was organisedby The Zone and gavecoastal students a chanceto put their talents onshow.Students from schools,including St Brendan-Shaw College, Reece High,TAFE, Don College andthe North-West ChristianSchool participated in theexhibition.Twenty-one pieces of artwere judged by fivecritics, who eventuallydecided the six categorywinners.Taylor Murphy andLauren Burk were bothwinners of the People’schoice award in the 12-17age group.Don College studentKristy Birtwistle won thePeople’s Choice award forthe 18-25 age group.The Judges’ Runner-upaward for the 12-17 agegroup was presented toChristian Pruckner withEffie Burns taking out the18-25 age group award forthe same category.Don College studentLaura Gillam was the12-17 age group judges’winner and TAFE studentLauren Murray-Wottonwas the judges’ winner forthe 18-25 group.Category winners werepresented with a framedcertificate and an Anverschocolate hamper.CREATIVE GIFT: <strong>Devonport</strong> Mayor Lynn Laycock presents Reece HighSchool student Lauren Burk with her prize for winning the People’sChoice award in the 12-17 age group.
