17.1 Your Company is committed to uphold Official Language Policy of <strong>the</strong> Govt. During <strong>the</strong> year<strong>2012</strong>-13, your company consistently strived to adhere and implement <strong>the</strong> Official Language Policy to meet <strong>the</strong> targetsgiven in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> Programme issued by Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. During<strong>the</strong> year, meetings of <strong>the</strong> Official Language Implementation Committee and Hindi Workshops were held in <strong>the</strong> CorporateOffice and o<strong>the</strong>r locations. In order to promote use of Hindi, Rajbhasha Month was also celebrated in September <strong>2012</strong>and various competitions were organized during Rajbhasha Month in Corporate Office and o<strong>the</strong>r locations. Hindi Softwareis provided in computers of all departments. Action is in progress for Unicode activation in all <strong>the</strong> Computers and trainingof Unicode covers all Executives and employees.17.2 Your Company is convenor of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (undertakings) and conducts regularmeetings and Joint Hindi Fortnight programmes for all Central PSUs at Bangalore. Your Company was conferred withRajbhasha Shield and Certificate for <strong>the</strong> year 2011-12 for outstanding performance in implementation of Official Languageby <strong>the</strong> Regional Implementation Office, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs.17.3 Drafting & Evidence Sub Committee of Parliament on Official Language visited Bangalore and held discussion with <strong>the</strong>Chairman of <strong>the</strong> TOLIC (Undertaking), Bangalore along with 9 o<strong>the</strong>r members. Committee commended <strong>the</strong> TOLIC activitiesand suggested to improve fur<strong>the</strong>r. During this meeting, Chairperson of <strong>the</strong> Committee released <strong>the</strong> “8th Issue of Deepika”which was brought under TOLIC banner in which it covers Official Language Implementation activities of Bangalore PSUsand articles on various subjects along with important information in connection with Hindi promotion.18. MANPOWER18.1 Total number of employees on <strong>the</strong> rolls of <strong>the</strong> Company as on 31.03.2013 was 1251 consisting of 820 Workmen, 386Executives and 45 Supervisors as against 1319 on 31.03.<strong>2012</strong>.KIOCL employees were awarded with 5th CIDC Viswakarma Award on 07.03.2013 at New Delhi.18.2 Recruitment: During <strong>the</strong> financial year <strong>2012</strong>-13 (April to March) in Group `A’ (Executives) <strong>the</strong>re was no recruitment except1 Presidential appointment (General category). In Group `C’ (Non Executive) 1 general candidate was appointed.
