He has been working in manufacturing and business process improvementfor <strong>the</strong> last 18 years in senior operational roles and <strong>the</strong>n with global blue chiporganisations across Europe and <strong>the</strong> US. He won <strong>the</strong> prestigious European QualityAward in 1993 followed by <strong>the</strong> Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance Award in 1999.His plants eliminated significant safety incidents, delivered 90% reductions in defects,breakdowns, short stops, changeovers and lead times. Since 2011, Chris has beenleading <strong>the</strong> growth of <strong>the</strong> Performance Solutions by Milliken business across Europe,and supports his client engagement activity with speaking and mentoring events.Nick Bailey, Milliken, Great Britain, PractitionerNick Bailey is an experienced Senior practitioner with Milliken Performance Solutions. Hehas worked for Milliken and Company for over 20 years in a variety of manufacturingrelated roles with his plants winning many awards and achieving several lost timeaccident free years. Nick was part of Milliken’s first study mission to Japan with agroup from Europe and also participated in a subsequent mission with US colleagues.Having spent time as <strong>the</strong> MPS Champion for <strong>the</strong> UK, Nick was promoted to <strong>the</strong> role ofPlant Manager and successfully led <strong>the</strong> first site in Milliken to challenge for <strong>the</strong> JIPMTPM award. He is passionateabout <strong>the</strong> work of <strong>the</strong> British Safety Council and dedicated to working towards it‘svision: that no one should be killed, injured or made ill by work activity.
