Bruce joined theGloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service as aretained fire-fighter in July 1980 and waspromoted to Leading Fire-fighter in 1988. In1997 he was promoted to Sub Officer and tookon the role of First Aid Instructor in the FireService.Nailsworth is a Retained Fire Station, one ofsixteen out of twenty stations in Gloucestershire. A RetainedFire-fighter is someone who has a full time occupation andlives within five minutes journey from the Fire Station,responding to emergency calls via a pocket alerter. Brucecurrently lectures on First Aid and Fire Safety aroundthe country and also has a very successful photographybusiness.Bruce is also very keen to promote Fire Safety in the homeand workplace. If you have a problem or require assistancewith Fire Safety issues, please call him.
