Kurukshetra University has a longhistory of collecting manuscripts and rare books <strong>for</strong>research and teaching. Some of its manuscripts are500 years old. The University’s collection serves thestudents and scholars from around the world, as wellas members of the general public, who are welcometo use its materials.The MRC at Kurukshetra University has beenfunctioning since October 2003 to locate anddocument the manuscripts in the public andprivate manuscript repositories of Harayana. It has beenoperational since 1 st November, 1971. As a centre<strong>for</strong> the study of Tibetan culture, the Library is firmlydedicated to a threefold vision of preservation,protection and promotion.
