IFBIstudents continued to make a mark in India’s Banking and Financialservices sector with record placements in recent times.“IFBI recorded 1146 placements in the period August 2009 toJanuary 2010, reflecting strong industry demand for trained graduatesfrom IFBI” says ManishSrivastava, who heads IndustryAlliances at IFBI. A nationallevel contest was held on Gaming in the Banking Domain.The contest was won by Rajib Kundu Roy of IFBI Kolkata. Improvement in general business sentiment bodes well forfinancial services sector. Overall the hiring outlook and placement outlook hasshown a decisive upturn in recent months. IFBI goes international !Recently, IFBI added another feather to its cap by venturing outsideIndia and conducting its first ever international training program.IFBI conducteda program on“Retail CreditManagement”at Kathmandu,Nepal in November. Theprogram was delivered byIFBI’s senior faculty Mr.CVR Krishnaswami and Mr.Dilip Dongre.This was followedby a program titled“Corporate and WholesaleBanking” in the month ofDecember.It is worth recallingthat IFBI’s parent organization—NIIT—planted its firstinternational flag around1991—and that start hasgrown to a worldwide presenceof more than 40 countriesacross 5 continents. Cycle 11 students of KolkataCentre worked hard through the night,decorating the centre and when BasantPanchami day dawned there was no prettiersight than the Front Office of IFBI!Thanks to the increasing pace ofplacements at IFBI and the increasingnumber of recruitments by BFSI organizationsfrom IFBI, there are many new locationswhere enrolments are happening forIFBI.
