This workshop will present basic <strong>in</strong>formation on <strong>the</strong> flood provisions of <strong>the</strong>2009 International Code Series (I-Codes) and ASCE 24, <strong>Flood</strong> Resistant Design and Construction, andchanges to <strong>the</strong> 2012-I-Codes will be noted. Build<strong>in</strong>g codes <strong>in</strong> California, Hawaii, and Nevada are based on<strong>the</strong> I-Codes. The workshop also reviews community responsibilities under <strong>the</strong> National <strong>Flood</strong> InsuranceProgram and <strong>the</strong> importance of coord<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g local floodpla<strong>in</strong> management ord<strong>in</strong>ances with build<strong>in</strong>gcodes.
