GOD IN EVERYTHING. 337demonstrates that all our misery comes through ignorance,and this ignorance is the idea of manifoldness, this separatson between man and man, man and woman, man andchild, nation from nation, earth from moon, moon from sun,between atom andthis separationatom is the cause reallyof all the misery, and the Vedanta says this separationdoes not exist, it is not real. It ismerely apparent, onthe surface. In the heart of things there is Unity still.If you go inside you find that Unitybetween man andman, women and children, races and races, high and low,rich and poor, the gods and men all are :One, and animalstoo, if you go deep enough, and he who has attained tothat has no more delusion. He has reached that Unitywhich we call God in theology. Where isany more delusion for him ? What can delude him ? He knows thereality of everything, the secret of everything. Wherefor him ? What does he desire ?is there any more miseryHe has traced the reality of everything unto the Lord,that centre, that Unity of everything, and that is EternalBliss, Eternal Knowledge, Eternal Existence. Neitherdeath nor disease, nor sorrow nor misery, nor discontentis There. All is Perfect Union and Perfect Bliss. Forwhom should he mourn then ? In reality there is nodeath, there is no misery, in the centre, the reality, thereis no one to be mourned for, no one to be sorry for. Hehas penetrated everything, the (Pure One, the Formless,the Bodiless, the Stainless, He the Knower, He the GreatPoet, the Self -Existent, He who isgiving to everyonewhat he deserves. They are groping in darkness whoare worshipping this ignorant world, the world that isproduced out of ignorance. Those who are worshippingthat world, thinking of it as of that Existence, are gropingin darkness, and those who live their whole lives in this22
