Table and house manners Use of the bathroom Tidiness of the house Appropriate Clothing and grooming Dating Acceptable language and unacceptable language Curfews School obligations Use of Money Forms of courtesy – American‟s expect to hear„Please & Thank you‟ OFTEN Time alone Entertaining guests Watching TV, reading, listening to music, phone and computer use Visiting neighbors and friends Conversing together Household chores and cookingBe prepared for potential conflict in these areas. Realize that the conflict isbetween two different cultures and you must be the one to inform your host familyand friends of the differences, because they probably have not lived in yourcountry.
