Installation InstructionsDocument No. 129-403January 21, 2005OpenAir Electronic Fusible LinkEA1127R1Product DescriptionThe Electronic Fusible Link (EFL) is a heat responsive deviceused with the Siemens OpenAir UL listed fire and smokecontrol damper actuator.Upon exceeding the temperature limits of the EFL modelordered and installed, the EFL cuts power to the electronicdamper actuator and the actuator’s spring return mechanismcloses the damper.NOTE:The EFL must be factory-installed. The UL ratingcarried by the specific damper and actuator isassigned as an assembly and cannot be added inthe field.Replacement EFLs may be field-installed with local authorityapproval.Contents• Electronic Fusible Link• 2 – 1.25-in (31,75 mm) hex head self-drilling screwsProduct NumbersASK79.165ASK79.212ASK79.250ASK79.350NOTE:165°F (74°C)212°F (100°C)250°F (121°C)350°F (177°C)The EFL is compatible only with OpenAirGNDxxx.xU/F UL listed fire and smoke damperactuators.Expected Installation Time15 minutesPrerequisitesAppropriate OpenAir GND series damper actuator.OperationWhen the EFL detects that its temperature settings isexceeded, the power to the electronic damper actuator isshut off and the spring mechanism closes the damper. The manual override reset button (See Figure 1) on theEFL can be pressed when the temperature has cooledbelow the EFL setpoint. The EFL device will again beoperational.ManualOverride/ResetCAUTION:Before resetting any sensor, a carefulinspection of the damper, damperactuator, and sensor should be made.Damage to the temperature sensor willresult in loss of damper control.3/8-inch (9.5 mm)Flexible ConduitOpeningEFL BaseWarning/Caution NotationsWARNING:CAUTION:Personal injury/loss of life mayoccur if you do not follow theprocedures as specified.Equipment damage, or loss of datamay occur if you do not follow theprocedures as specified.EA1125R1Figure 1.
