Unusual and early Gallé vase, nice bulbous and footed shape, amber tinted glass internally decorated with dark green and bluemottling and silver foil inclusions imitating moss agate, the upper portion of vessel carries nicely detailed carved, wheel cut andhammered designs of poppies and a butterfly which display bright green foil highlights, the ring of glass connecting the body andflared foot has an amber tint, incised signature, 4.5”w x 8.5”h, a rare and very fine example of Gallé’s early work 6000-8000Reference: A vase with a similar technique is pictured in Glass by Gallé, by Duncan and de Bartha, p. 114467.
