Care alone has limitedimpact on transmission; care withprevention has the most impact.• PLHA are sexually active.• With contraception and plannedpregnancies, there is reduced risk ofMTCT.2. Improves wellness and reduces illness and hospitalizations among PLHA.• It prevents the risk of HIV re-infection.• It prevents transmission of HIV-related conditions that require care, such as STDs.3.
