IGS emerged victoriousby the very small margin of 3.5 points over Nudgee College and a much improved BGS. Thiswin is the 19th GPS Track and Field Championship for IGS and connued the school’s recentdominance of nishing in the top four for the past 30 years. The night was won through a mix of solid preparaon and a sheer unwillingness to backdown. Aer a very slow start the team produced a massive eort to claw back into thecompeon. The team was ignited by the sight of the IGS spectators arriving en masse. Fromthat moment on, the team was determined to put on a spirited show. IGS athletes nishedin the top ve in 54 of the 69 events including 12 rst places, 10 seconds, 12 thirds, sevenfourths and 10 hs.The breakdown of results indicated true team depth, a unied approach and very apparentstrengths and weaknesses.
