3InsulationFor all Yorkshire installations, werecommend you adhere to the insulationrequirements for copper tube as specifiedby The Water Supply (Water Fittings)Regulations 1999. These can be downloadedfrom www.hmso.gov.uk.Phenolic foamWhen using rigid phenolic foam (or otherthermal insulation) to lag pipework, always remember to refer to the laggingmanufacturer’s fixing instructions. To avoidthe risk of external corrosion of pipework, the European Phenolic Foam Associationrecommends that such insulation productsbe installed with a moisture barrier, such asDensopaste or a plastic covering applied bythe tube manufacturer. If you need to adda barrier product, we recommend that allYorkshire fittings are fully installed and arecompletely coated before these are applied.Covered pipeworkMaking provision for thermal movementis vital where pipe-work is installed underscreed or plaster, or passes through brick orblockwork. The preferred practice is to passtubes and pipes through sleeves or conduitsor to lay them in ducts surrounded by loose,non-rigid material such as vermiculite orglass wool. For further information, consultthe standard BS 6700.Pipework accessibilityIt’s wise to take advice from the localwater authority when it comes to pipeworkaccessibility.ChemicalsSome contracts may require the use ofproprietary chemicals to cleanse andflush pipework before full commissioning.Yorkshire fittings are compatible with aselection of products – contact us for a list.FluxesYorkshire Flux, Traditional Craftsman’s Fluxand Degussa H high duty flux are subject tothe requirements of the Control of SubstancesHazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.COSHH sheets are available to download fromour website, www.pegleryorkshire.co.ukSoldering fluxes do not supportmicrobiological growth in potable watersupplies and their residues are non-corrosive.Fluxes prevent oxidisation at the Coppertube during soldering. This allows the moltensolder to ‘wet’ the parent metals, creatinga true metallurgical bond. Efficient fluxesalso ensure that the maximum strength ofthe joint can be achieved by adding thedistribution of the solder over the wholejointing surface.Traditional Craftsman’s Flux maintains itsconsistency over a long period of time andcan be used with all types and sizes of softsolder fittings for applications including gas,and is char-resistant to normal heating levelsof 250ºC.Yorkshire Flux, like Traditional Craftsman’s,Yorkshire Flux will maintain it’s consistencyand can be used with all types and sizes ofsoft solder fittings. However, it must not beused for gas applications.Degussa H ready-mixed paste is for brazingcopper and copper alloys, such as PeglerYorkshire General High Duty fittings.ConnectorsMale connectorsYorkshire male connectors have threads toISO 7/EN 10226-1. Inert jointing compoundsor PTFE tape should be applied to taperthreads and good quality jointing washersshould be used with parallel threadedfittings. All Yorkshire male ended fittingsshould only be used with soldered joints.Female connectorsYorkshire female threaded connectors haveinternal parallel threads to IS0 7/EN 10226-1.Tee SpecificationUK SPECIFICATIONFirst quote the ends on the run (larger endfirst) and then the branch.EUROPEAN SPECIFICATIONQuote the larger end first, then the branch, followed by the remaining end.Cross SpecificationUK SPECIFICATIONEUROPEAN SPECIFICATION1 Range overview 2 Product details3 Technical data 4 Installation instructionswww.pegleryorkshire.co.ukPegler Yorkshire51
