Educating and Cultivating Servants for ChristThe CVCA Welcome CenterThe first thing you see when enteringCVCA’s front doors is theWelcome Center. It serves manypurposes, mainly to welcome andhelp guide you any way we can.Most importantly, we are here forthe security and safety of our students,staff, faculty, and volunteers.All who enter the building: Stopat the Welcome Center to say “Hi”to Gini Thompson and receive anametag. Please write legibly andcomplete all information. Yourinformation will carbon through toa duplicate providing a record ofeveryone in the building. Pleasealso sign out as you leave.Volunteers: Please fill out the volunteersign-in sheet on the counteras well as a nametag.Visitors: It is highly recommendedthat you set up an appointment.Upon your arrival we will call theperson with whom you have anappointment and let them knowyou are waiting.Alumni: Please ask for your specialwelcome tag and sign in the alumninotebook.Parents: If occasionally you need todrop something off for your student,this is the place. Please putyour student’s name on the itemand let us know if he/she is expectingit or needs to be notified. Thestudents are great about checkingthe Welcome Center if they areexpecting something.Messages to students should belimited to emergencies, when possible.The Welcome Center extensionis 270.All absences, early dismissals, orlate arrivals should be reported toNancy Schofield on the attendanceline or with a note. If your studentneeds to be notified, Nancy willconnect you to the Welcome Center.Students: Those who arrive late orhave early dismissal must sign inand out at the Welcome Centerand enter and exit through themain entrance. To be considered ontime, you must be in your homeroomby 8:05 a.m. If you are tardy,you will need to get a pass at theWelcome Center. This will not necessarilyexcuse your tardy. TheStudent/Parent Handbook lists thelimited reasons tardies are excused.The Welcome Center hours are7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. If theWelcome Center is closed, go directlyto the Main Office to sign in.Thanks for doing your part in keepingCVCA safe and secure so that wecan continue to Educate andCultivate Servants for Christ.Get Ready, Get Packed, and Let’s Go to JumpStart!Attention SeventhGrade Parents…Busy days are ahead with new studentorientation and Back-to-SchoolNight on Tuesday, <strong>August</strong> 14(details available on the CVCAwebsite), and an early 7:30 a.m.arrival on Wednesday, <strong>August</strong> 15to load luggage and board buses forSeneca Hills Bible Camp in westernPennsylvania. J-term informationwill be reviewed and questionsanswered during the <strong>August</strong> 14parents’ meeting.Please pray for students as theyform new relationships with oneanother and with the adults andhigh school mentors. Most importantly,please be in prayer that thetime at JumpStart will be used byGod to draw each student into acloser relationship with Him. It isour hope that you will be encouragedby all your child has to sharewhen you pick him up at the schoolon Friday, <strong>August</strong> 17 (6:00 p.m.).Also, please mark your calendarnow for our annual Ice CreamSocial on Tuesday, September 18at 6:45 p.m., when your family willenjoy ice cream sundaes followed bya “Rewind” of the JumpStart experiencewith worship songs, personaltestimonies, and a DVD of campaction and photos.
