Who should attend this <strong>Conference</strong>?Teachers who are aspiring to or considering seniorleadership should attend this conference. It isexpected that participants will currently hold middlemanagement positions in schools including HODs,Year Co-ordinators and Heads of House. Thisconference will focus on assisting these leaders toconsider their next promotional step to DeputyPrincipal or Dean of <strong>St</strong>udies/<strong>St</strong>udents level.Please note: Registrations must be received no laterthan Monday 1st February, <strong>2010</strong>. However, to avoiddisappointment, it is advisable to register early.Registration will be limited to a small number ofparticipants only.All participants are expected to commit fully to allsessions in the conference over the two days. Onceregistration is finalised, participants will receive asurvey on aspects of leadership and some suggestedreadings.What is the cost?The all inclusive conference cost is $594(including GST).Where is the conference being held?The conference in <strong>2010</strong> will be hosted at <strong>St</strong> <strong>Aidan's</strong>Anglican Girls' School, Corinda, Brisbane, with the<strong>Conference</strong> Dinner on Saturday night at the<strong>St</strong>amford Plaza Brisbane.Rationale: Why attend a conferencelike this?Research into factors that impact on the leadershipaspirations of women in teaching suggests that womenare reluctant to put themselves forward for leadershippositions unless identified and sponsored by othersand encouraged to take part in leadership preparationprogrammes.This conference aims to provide relevant training andpreparatory experiences in leadership and to demystifythe application and interview process for femaleaspirant leaders.As Principals and other senior leaders are often themost effective mentors and facilitators of leadershiplearning, this conference draws upon the experiencesof practising leaders in schools.
