RAYMOND HACK,IEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERs my pleasure to report on the activities of the <strong>South</strong>rican <strong>Football</strong> <strong>Association</strong> during the period 2007/08.low me to express my sincere thanks to the President,National Executive Committee, the respectivemmittees, Head Office personnel and our Commercialrtners for their dedicated support and unwaveringsistance in the day-to-day functioning of oursociation.ring the period under review our capacity to givepetus to our vision to promote and facilitate thevelopment of football through sustainable infrastructurald training facilities has been enhanced by engagementsth government at all levels.r relationship with the public sector and our mutuallyneficial partnership with the corporate sector hasabled us to implement various coaching, refereeingd youth development programmes.rthermore, our competitions platform involves moren 400 leagues countrywide for senior men andmen and a sound infrastructural base is in place toter for the needs of the national teams.e transition from 25 to 52 Regions during the periodder review was, and still remains, a major challenge.aging the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2010FA World Cup will add pressure on our resources,wever, the experience from this period willdoubdtedly strengthen our administrative andThe Junior National Teams Administration was establishedat the beginning of 2007. The primary objective of thisDepartment is to provide administrative managementsupport for all the junior national teams. This entailsmainly the provision of management support to theNational Teams Administration; drawing, monitoring andreconciliation of activities budgets; and the coordinationof national teams activities i.e. international tournaments,matches and friendly games.National TeamsNational U20 Team (Amajita)Women’s U19 Team (Basetsana)National U17 Team (Amajimbos)1.2 Management SupportFor administrative purposes, the team managers areassigned with specific responsibilities which includeall administrative matters and organisational planningin support of the technical staff.1.3 National Teams Programmes1.3.1 U20 National Team (Amajita)The U20 National Team held a training camp in August2007 and played against academies around Gautengwith the purpose of selecting players that were notselected from the past talent identification programme.In September 2007 the U20 National Team playedagainst Lesotho in Maseru and in November againstSwaziland at home and away.In December 2007 we advanced to the final of theCOSAFA Tournament where we lost against Zimbabwe.
