INFORMATIONTECHNOLOGYIN AGED CAREAwardsITAC 2012 Awards Nomination forImplementation and InnovationImplementation(<strong>Aged</strong> Care Provider Category)The awards are open to <strong>Aged</strong> and <strong>Community</strong> Care Providers andtheir implementation partners (vendors or service providers) thathave effectively used ICT to improve business outcomes in the<strong>Australia</strong>n <strong>Aged</strong> and <strong>Community</strong> Care environment. There will befour (4) awards in the Implementation category:1 Best Implementation of the Year Award –Under 150 places/clients– facilities with less than 150 places/clients owned by the oneorganisation2 Best Implementation of the Year Award –150 to 650 places/clients– facilities with greater than 150 places/clients owned by theone organisation3 Best Implementation of the Year Award –Greater than 650 places/clients– facilities with greater than 650 places/clients owned by theone organisation4 Best Implementation of the Year Award for Infrastructure– hardware and / or software that enables the implementationof business applicationsInnovation(Vendor and Service Provider Category)The ‘ICT Company of the Year Award’ is open to ICT companiesthat have designed outstanding and innovative products thatwill enhance the <strong>Australia</strong>n <strong>Aged</strong> and <strong>Community</strong> Care ICTmarketplace in these areas:• Hardware• Software• ICT Support <strong>Services</strong> (eg. Consulting service)Key InformationAll submissions will be reviewed by the Awards Judges.Finalists will be selected from each Category.The company logo (jpg format) and 3 digital high resolutionphotos are required with the nomination submission.Finalists may be required to submit a multimedia presentationfor the Awards Gala Cocktail Recpetion.Finalists are required to attend the Awards Gala CocktailReception to be held Thursday 19 April 2012.Submissions close: 31st December 2011Finalists notified: 15th February 2012Nomination forms available from the ITAC 2012 website atwww.itac2012.com.au


Judging CriteriaThe selection criteria is outlined as a guide to assist in completing the nomination, however, highlights of the inspirational aspects areencouraged.The nomination should address the following criteria:• What is the advantage or uniqueness of the product/project/innovation?• How does it benefit the aged and community care industry?• What does it do, or do better than existing or competing offerings?• Has it resulted in increased efficiencies?• In what way is it innovative or original?• Have you demonstrated a return on investment?• Why do you believe your organisation should win an <strong>Aged</strong> Care Industry IT Award?How specific to each Award CategoryIMPLemenTATION◆ Best Implementation of the Year Award –Under 150 places/clients◆ Best Implementation of the Year Award –150 to 650 places/clients◆ Best Implementation of the Year Award –Over 650 places/clients◆ Best Implementation of the Year ofInfrastructure AwardINNOVATIONICT Company of the Year AwardWhat procedures are used to further develop the business to achieve improvedbusiness outcomes, in terms of:Describe the business case used to seek approval for the project and indicate tothe extent that operational supports costs were factored into the project.• What project governance was employed throughout the project?• How were staff involved and their commitment obtained?• How was the change around the new implementation managed within theclient’s organisation• How were the impacts (benefits) of the implementation measured?• List qualitative and quantitative benefits of the implementation.• Demonstrate how you measured and proved the success of the project.How will you or are you going to market, in terms of:• Explain the innovation you have created eg.
