According to the 8 th centurymanuscripts, St. Patrick left a bell and a chalice inthe monasteries that he established. The bellcalled the community to prayer and publicworship; the bell also invited the community topause from their daily chores, to times <strong>of</strong> silenceand reflection.The Bell has been chosen as a focus inpreparation for the 50 th Eucharistic Congress to beheld in Ireland from the 10 th -17 th June 2012. Thepilgrimage <strong>of</strong> the Eucharistic Congress Bell beganin Armagh on 17 th March last.
