TCM- TCM is an ancient system <strong>of</strong> health care from China. TCM isbased on a concept <strong>of</strong> balanced Qi that is believed to flowthroughout the body. The main purpose <strong>of</strong> Qi is to regulate apersons emotional, mental and physical balanced and to beinfluenced by the opposing forces <strong>of</strong> Yin and Yang. Diseaseis proposed to result from the flow <strong>of</strong> Qi being disrupted andYin and Yang becoming imbalanced. Components <strong>of</strong> TCMare acupuncture, massage, physical exercises herbal andnutritional therapy.2. AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE THERAPY- Auriculotherapy, ear acupuncture applies the principles <strong>of</strong>acupuncture to specific points on the ear. Healing processescan be promoted by working with these points on the earbecause the ear contains many blood vessels and nerveendings, that when stimulated, influence the organs andbodily functions. In modern times auriculotherapy has beenadvanced by Dr Paul Nogier <strong>of</strong> France. Dr Nogier believedthat the ear is shaped like an upside down human fetus. Theacupuncture points on the ear correspond to the body parts <strong>of</strong>the fetus shape. Stimulating these points on the ear thecorresponding organs and bodily processes would bestimulated by nerve impulses.46
